Gameplay

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a First-person shooter with action RPG features, like its predecessors. You solo or with up to three others in online or local split-screen multiplayer. The game is a fantasy RPG.

Playable characters utilize an overworld to travel between game locales. Overworld fighting and missions are random.

Tina’s Wonderlands draws on the Borderlands franchise but differs in significant ways. Instead of playing as a certain vault hunter with their personality and voice lines, users use the game’s character-building system. Players may mix and match character classes’ talents for the first time in the series. “Hero points” may be used to increase avatar stats.

First time in the series, players can handle melee weapons.

The game uses Borderlands’ randomly generated loot engine to produce weapons and equip them. In addition, the game includes new gear to boost players’ strength. Melee weapons feature the 5th slot to encourage close combat. Grenades are now a cooldown spell slot. Players may conjure meteors and turn adversaries into sheep. Two ring slots and an amulet slot improve character strength.

Playable Character Classes

There are six playable classes in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: the Brr-Zerker, Clawbringer, Graveborn, Spellshot, Spore Warden, and Stabbomancer.

Each individual possesses one class feat, one skill tree, and two action skills. You’ll need to choose a secondary class with its own class feat, skill tree, and action skills at some point throughout the game, giving you a total of two class feats, four action skills, and eight possible abilities to choose from. If you have multiclassed, you can select one action skill from each class’s tree but still only have access to the class’s feats.

Types of Damage

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has five distinct forms of elemental damage: fire, frost, lightning, poison, and dark magic.

Take note of the color of an opponent’s health bar before engaging them in battle; this will reveal the most effective form of elemental damage to use against them.

What is How Chaos Mode and how it Works?

After completing the Wonderlands campaign, you’ll get access to the Chaos Chamber, where you may battle any boss in the game in a random sequence of encounters, regardless of how many times you’ve faced them.

The Chaos Trial is a phase in the Chaos Chamber; completing it raises your level in the Chaos Mode by one.

Chaos Chambers has six stages and two bosses. The game randomly selects foes and bosses. After each level, players receive access to a portal that grants them benefits, combat advantages, or “curses” that hamper their powers. In addition, players can pay crystals4 to unlock bonus loot from bosses that drop legendary weapons.

Brief Story

The adventure follows Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep in the fantasy RPG “Bunkers & Badasses.” Tiny Tina changes the game’s environment on the fly.

Valentine, Frette, and The Newbie fight the Dragon Lord. Butt Stallion’s Sword of Souls stops the Dragon Lord from raising the undead. The Dragon Lord is imprisoned, and the game begins over with the Newbie as “The Fatemaker.” Butt Stallion guides Fatemaker through the initial area.

A group of skeletons and their leader halt them, planning to rouse the Dragon Lord from his underground tomb. Instead, the Dragon Lord is awoken despite slaying the skeletal leader.

Dragon Lord’s skeletons besiege Brighthoof. Queen Butt Stallion tasks the Player with retrieving the Sword of Souls after fighting the skeletal army.

The Player repairs Brighthoof after reclaiming the Sword and charging it with The Dragon Lord’s poltergeist ally’s soul. Queen makes Player a Knight of Brighthoof for their accomplishments. The Dragon Lord grabs the Sword of Souls from Queen Butt Stallion and beheads her. He returns to The Fear-amid with the Sword and Queen Butt Stallion’s skull. The Player must traverse the ocean and stop the Dragon Lord before he destroys the Wonderlands with the Sword’s strength. The Player must get their boat sanctified by a bard before crossing or facing an ocean monster. After finding a bard, he dispels the negative feelings. The spell ruins the ocean, forcing the Player to traverse on foot.

The Dragon Lord tells the Player while crossing that Wonderlands is a game. He aims to use the Sword of Souls to destroy Tina’s grip over the Wonderlands since he perceives her as insecure and quick to rage.

The Dragon Lord tells the Player his background before entering Fear-amid. Roland initially exposed unpredictable Tiny Tina to Bunkers and Badasses. After she wielded the Sword of Souls inappropriately to wipe away evil, her character turned evil, angering Tina. She vowed to always play as Bunker Master, establishing a universe where only heroes prevail and the Dragon Lord always loses. The Dragon Lord swore revenge on Tina when he learned his deeds weren’t his.

Tina, Valentine, and Frette encourage the Player to misuse the Sword of Souls after fighting the Dragon Lord. Instead of defeating the Dragon Lord, the Player uses the Sword to restore Queen Butt Stallion. Valentine, Frette, and the Newbie enjoyed Tina’s journey so much that they continued. The Player becomes a Knight of Brighthoof, and the Dragon Lord is jailed for 200 years.

Development of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Gearbox Software and Lost Boys Interactive produced Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. According to Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford, the company has been preparing a fantasy spin-off since the early 2010s and proposed many fantasy ideas to publishers in its early days. Final Fantasy inspired the game’s overworld structure. Gearbox created five overworld-only maps. These maps include narrative strands tied to the main tale.

Andy Samberg, Will Arnett, and Wanda Sykes voiced additional key characters in the game.

Gearbox Software continues to work with 2K Games after Embracer Group’s 2020 takeover. 2K announced the game in 2021. It was published on March 25, 2022, for Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox X and S.

Pre-ordered players received the Golden Hero Armor Pack. In addition, tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is the first Borderlands game to have complete crossplay across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. 2019’s Borderlands 3 also has crossplay. However, the functionality was initially limited regarding platforms that could play together.

Gearbox released Assault on Dragon Keep as a standalone game before Wonderlands. Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure releases on Windows, PS4, and Xbox One on November 8, 2021.
